Having been on social media for many years, Dr. Tong did not realize the potential these platforms have for spreading knowledge and creating connections. Late 2023, Dr. Tong started a surgery oriented IG account (@dr.kimpawsible) as a way to share some of the fun things that happen in a veterinary hospital and the cool surgeries he performs.

Since, @dr.kimpawsible has organically grown to 3,500+ followers, many of which are veterinarians, vet students, and pet owners with an interest in his content. This account has reached across the globe to even to India and Africa! Dr. Tong loves sharing his content because who doesn’t want to see whats going on “behind the curtains!?”

Dr. Tong is happy to see continued engagement with his platform and the various questions he gets ranging from “how does this surgery work,” and “what can I do to become a surgery resident someday?” Dr. Tong strives to use this platform not only as a way to share interesting (sometimes funny) surgeries and stories, but also as a means of spreading education globally. Hopefully one day we can grow a global community in the interest of veterinary surgery!
